iOS 7 Leak: Biometric Fingerprint Sensor Possible for New iPhone
According to 9to5Mac‘s recent article, they seem to have some information regarding iOS 7. Apparently, Apple is expected to add a biometric fingerprint sensor feature to the new iPhone. Sources say that the iOS 7 beta 4 has a new folder called “BiometricKitUI”, along with a description in the strings that states “while touching the home button with their thumb”.
The technology behind the fingerprint sensor is mainly geared towards a user unlocking their iPhone, but there may be a possibility for the user to have it as a payment option. If that is the case, we can eliminate passwords when purchasing music, apps, movies, etc. We all know that losing passwords is highly common, and this would really benefit users.
So, if these rumors are true (which is good indication that they are), this could really set Apple ahead of the game in the mobile world. They would have a huge advantage over the other platforms out there, despite certain opinions of where Apple stands now to the others.
What are you thoughts? Would this feature be a deciding factor on your phone next phone?
